Who’s Behind The Project

Q Amos is a Media Production student deeply interested in the power of storytelling and its impact on shaping perceptions. A passion for storytelling and diversity inspired this project with the aim of exploring how classic narratives can be made more relevant and representative of today’s diverse society.
Having previously worked with the Horniman Museum, their commitment to education and community engagement, felt like a natural and relevant partner to bring these reimagined stories and discussions to a wider audience, demonstrating how classic tales can be remade to reflect our richly varied world.

The Horniman Museum and Gardens is a foundation for its diverse collections of anthropology, natural history and musical instruments, alongside an acclaimed aquarium and beautiful gardens. Their commitment and dedication to showcasing diverse cultures and fostering inclusive learning experiences, engaging a broad audience makes it an ideal platform to share these reimagined narratives and spark important conversations.
The Grimm Revival Project focusses on reimagining traditional stories through a lens of diversity and inclusion, aligning perfectly with the museum’s ethos of promoting understanding and representation. Within the physical presence of the museum, the Horniman Museum creates a large platform for people who visit the museum and are likely to attend the exhibition Storybooks - Once Upon A New Time, but also visit and explore content online and social media. ​​
The Grimm Revival Project is a two-part exploration of classic fairy tales reimagined through the lens of diversity. Explore five video episodes that challenge stereotypes, plus an interactive museum exhibition. Engage with drama reenactments, interviews, and enriched story adaptations, then let every voice be heard as timeless tales are redefined for a more inclusive future.
